Help! I can't find a solution to Fatal Error 258

  • Dear All,

    This error has criplied my website. I tried going to the backend and re-installing a backup, but there I cannot access it and see an error message. So, it seems there is a problem at the backend as well. I hired a freelancer from guru.com to try and help me fix the problem and it ended up being a waste of money and time. He had no idea how to fix it.

    This is the message I get: Fatal error: Cannot redeclare get_avatar_url() (previously declared in /home/content/p3nexnas06_data02/76/2137076/html/wp-includes/link-template.php:3414) in /home/content/p3nexnas06_data02/76/2137076/html/wp-content/themes/Zoo/functions.php on line 258

  • Change your theme to twentyfifteen and see if the error goes away.

    I cannot access the website at all, front or back-end!

    You can try using your ftp client or the file manager in your hosts control panel to rename or remove the Zoo theme folder. After that, revisit your site at yoursite.com/wp-admin, and once you log in the default WordPress theme should take over – assuming that the zoo theme is the only issue. Your error message seems to point to the Zoo theme as contributing to the problem.
