• Hi,

The objective was to export my blog entry as a Word document in Microsoft Word. I’m trying to find a dependable plugin for this. My client is unwilling to pay for this basic necessity. His request is straightforward: no other HTML or styling should be included; the exported content should only contain the text and, if feasible, the featured image. This seemed like an actual require, and I wanted to support him. I attempted to install Print My Blog, but in order to export as a Word document, one must purchase a subscription. I therefore came here and gave Mpublisher a go on a local server. However, the download just stops working without displaying any errors when selecting the Microsoft document format. Could you please assist me in finding an appropriate solution for my need?

    Hi @jincyjithin

Just a quick note to help you debug the error:

    • Just before clicking the download button, try to check the “validate content before download”. This will bring you more information about the error if it’s related to HTML.
    • Try to create the file in small batches instead of selecting all posts. This will help you to debug if the error is global or if it’s related only to a specific post.
    • Images are commonly a source of errors. Try a different option inside the “Design” tab > “Content images”. For instance, start disabling all images and then try other options to see if it makes a difference.
    • Public URLs work better than localhost. If you have the option, try to export the docx file from a server rather than from localhost.

    Thanks for your quick response.

I’ve turned on the option to validate content before download. I’m not seeing any errors. Even I tried exporting a single post with text content. Removed all images. The simple plain txt format worked, but no luck with doc format output. If I could see any errors, it will be helpful to debug though. I’m now planning to try on my staging server. I’ve installed the latest version which is 2.14.3.

    Hi @ferranfg,

The post export in doc format worked in staging server. Thank you so much for your prompt assistance with detailed instructions. Is it possible to export the post with all of the embedded images and external links? When the links were exposed as txt files, I received them, but not as doc files. I would be grateful for any help.
