HELP! Honeypot didn’t work anymore!

Hi @liri89 – are you using the timecheck feature? As the FAQ notes, there’s nothing magical about how a honeypot works. If/when bots are programmed to skip a honeypot field (either because it hasn’t been made to look like a regular field, or the bot has been programmed to look for key honeypot indicators), the honeypot method of spam stopping simply can’t work. That is why I added the additional timecheck feature. If that’s not enabled, give it a go. If it is enabled, unfortunately, you’ll have to go with stronger spam stopping (reCaptcha or something like that)

Hi its not working for me either, I have a honey pot for city and even though I can see this is getting populated by spam bots the email is still getting submitted, I also have the time feature enabled and Recaptcha

Hi @nitrokev – I’ve tested honeypot and it is working as expected on my test sites. Perhaps there is something else going on that is interrupting things. I would double-check you don’t have any errors in your PHP/WP error logs and also in the browser’s Console (JS errors). If you continue to have problems, please start a new thread with the issue so it can be tackled directly.
