• Help !!!

I had a blog running fine on version 2.3. something. Decided to upgrade to 2.8.6. So I downloaded the new version and unzipped … then in my enthusiasm I uploaded the new version using FTP straight over the top of the old version.

I did not read the upgarde instruction so did not deactivate plugins, or back anything up ??

Now when I try to acces my blog which is at https://www.profitminute.com/blog

    I get this error message:

Fatal error: Class ‘Translations’ not found in /home/profit/public_html/blog/wp-includes/l10n.php on line 407

Anyone have any suggestions on how I can correct this stupid mistake? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Regards

  • Try:

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin.

    – renaming your current theme’s folder in wp-content/themes via FTP in order to activate the default theme.

I believe that esmi is right with the reseting the plugin folder link that he provided.

However, if you aren’t technical you may have on your computer the themes and plugins that you uploaded to wp. Or, perhaps you remember which ones they were. Reinstall them and you may be able to login.

One other option that I have experienced before. Sometimes wp may not unzip correctly due to various reasons. Try downloading wp again, unzipping and wqriting over the files.

If all else fails I can fix it for you?

Thank you both so much. I went through each of the steps but no change. Then finally downloaded another version of WordPress, unzipped and loaded it up again and all good now.

    Really appreciate the help.
