Help Getting Started with WordPress and Tempera

I am having real problems trying to get my main page the way I want it. I am using the Tempera theme and maybe I shouldn’t be. I have never tried this before. Here are my questions.
1) Is there a way to make the slider 2/3 of the screen size, left aligned and put an image/text box on the right? Have my defined sidebar starting beside the slider would also be OK.
2) Can I have my right sidebar on my front presentation page even if it is below the slider?
3) In the widget column is the only thing that I can have a cryout column? I would like a cryout column with my sidebar, that shows on other pages, beside it.

If I can’t do want I want above can I disable the presentation page and somehow use a smaller slider and sidebar on a different page layout?

Bottom line I am trying to use your presentation page with its sliders, cryouts and recent posts take 2/3 the width of the screen and still have my sidebar on the right. Is this EASILY possible. This is the first time I have ever tried anything like this. Thanks.
