  • Uri for the site is millsplace.

    Columns: you need to take out the “height: 100%;” bits.
    My method of choice for aligning the #Content div would be to give it:
    position: absolute;
    left: 50%;
    margin-left: -387px
    [i.e. half of its width]
    Making the sidebar column extend all the way to the bottom is probably faked easiest by giving the container/#Content div the same background colour.
    I may be wrong, I only had a quick look, but HTH. (And I already have Gmail.)

    @random and how would you then position the footer?

    Uh, Root, that page doesn’t have a footer. ??
    But it would go in the container, below everything else. Float it if you must, to keep it below other floated blocks.
    (Obviously this won’t work properly if you’re using absolutely positioned blocks inside the container.)

    Well, I’ll be a son-of-a-b! I spent about an hour trying to figure what you meant by the background image tiling trick, and I eventually searched ALA and found the Faux Column trick that you were referring to. Thank you for the help and direction. This is my first time designing solely with CSS… what a difference from table layouts!
    Thanks again!!! And since you don’t want/need em, I’ll be directing the GMail invites to those who were referred to my site from this board.

    @ random well obviously
    @enamore22. People who try and help here from time to time really do appreciate a post letting them know whether it worked or borked. So thanks for the thanks. Good luck. And welcome to WordPress.
