Hi all, just registered here today. I have two blogs, the one linked to my username and one that I started later that I’m thinking of deleting. The thing is, I want to find a free web host that meets minimum requirements for wordpress. Can anyone recommend anything? Here’s something else to note, if there are any file size upload limits, I’d like them to be higher than 40 mb. Also, when replying, be sure to let me know how much space the host provides.

Sorry, I’m used to wordpress.com where if you have your website in your profile it automatically links. Both blog addresses are in my profile but I’ll post them here. The one I’m thinking about moving is https://bobdavcav.wordpress.com and the one expressing concerns is https://wpthoughts.wordpress.com

We typically don’t recommend free hosting providers around here, as they often offer crippled servers that prevent WordPress from functioning properly.

If you want a free blog, WordPress.com is really your best bet.

Were you having trouble with any of your WordPress.com blogs?

No. However, there are some things about wordpress.com that I don’t like. For more information check out https://wpthoughts.wordpress.com

Those are definitely some valid concerns.

To address just a few of them:

Accessibility is still a work in progress for the Sharing and Custom Menu tools. I’m not sure when it’ll be done, but it’s definitely on the to-do list.

The space upgrade for embedding audio files is necessary to offset the additional bandwidth expended by visitors playing the audio files, plus you get a nice space boost for those really large audio files. ??

This forum is work www.remarpro.com – that is to say self-hosted WordPress on servers you (generally) pay for. If you have issues with WordPress.com, you should post on the .com forums.

I’m closing this post, because it’s about .com and also we generally don’t leave post about hosting recommendations open, because they become spam filled.
