Help! Facebook plugin not working

I’ve installed the facebook Like button and it is ‘activated’ and appears in my settings; which I have chosen and saved however the button is not appearing anywhere…I have also checked to see if it may have appeared as a widget I need to add to the sidebar but is not there either…
