• well…i am a total newbie so please be patient with me. i have been on this problem for 3 days straight doing little else and i am about to lose much MORE hair than i already had.

i installed apache, php, phpadmin, sqlite, mysql thru a wampserver package and they are running just fine though i havent got a database yet.
i have also downloaded filezilla, winzip and the wordpress CMS(uninstall). i wish to be able to use wordpress’s CMS on my blog with wordpress and blogspot.

    the question:

    1. to install, i need a cpanel with my website right? i can’t find the cpanel of my wordpress blog. do wordpress even have a cpanel for blogs? if they don’t;…….

2.must i have a web hosting account? any free web hosting account out there that supports php, mysql and is adfree ??and also………

3.can i still somehow use wordpress CMS on my blog? i see many people doing it but i can’t figure out how they install it in the first place without a cpanel?

any help here is MUCH MUCH appreciated.

    THANK YOU.
buy u a cuppa if we ever meet:)

  • 1. to install wordpress, you need server access. FTP generally suffices.

    2. You need some kind of server if you want the complete-control version (i.e., not pre-hosted WordPress.com site). You say you already installed wampserver — you could run off a local box if you have dynamic DNS (in case your ip changes…). Free hosting without ads generally doesn’t exist, when it does it really, really sucks.

    3. HUH? WordPress IS a blog. How do you use WP “on my blog”? I don’t understand the question. You use WP FOR your blog, for blogging — no other blog software needed.
