Help Choosing a Calendar plugin

Hi,

I am looking for advice on a calendar plugin. Have tried about 4 different but cannot find one that does what I need.

I am using “Event Organiser” which does OK. However my client enters an event which shows up fine in the calendar. However they want to notify their users by a post. Basically that is a 2 stage operation e.g creating the event then writing a post notifying users to check the calendar. Not very efficient

We were looking for a way to streamline that where once the event is entered into the calendar it appears on the page where their posts are automatically.

Here is where it gets a little complicated though. They have a static front page and use the “catlist” plugin to display posts from various categories.

The calendar has built in categories but they appear no way connected or related to the post categories. What we want is a calendar plugin that will link to our post categories and automatically display.

Unfortunately I cannot supply a link because this is a private portal of an organisation that works within the Childcare industry which contain sensitive and identifiable data. But that should not matter as there is no problem with the actual site and one does not need to see the site if they know of such a plugin that can do what we need.
