    Hi all,

    Please help!!!
I tried to add a font to Pinboard by following this
but when I tried to do so, I must I made a mistake because now I can’t even access my website or my dashboard. I just get a page saying : Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING, expecting ‘)’ in /home/frenc213/public_html/wp-content/themes/pinboard/functions.php on line 532.

How do I correct it if I can’t even get in anymore?? And more importantly, how do I access my dashboard??

Thanks in advance for our help

  • Login to your website with an SFTP or FTP client such as FileZilla or Cyberduck.

    Browse to your themes folder:

    wp-content/themes/pinboard

Now rename the pinboard folder to something else such as pinboard1

This should deactivate this theme and allow you to reach your WordPress admin.

Do you have access to your website’s files?
Can you re-upload the original functions.php file when you download the theme again, to the /wp-content/themes/pinboard/ directory?

FTP into your site (or whatever file management application your host provides) & delete the wp-content/themes/pinboard folder. Then re-upload the theme.

And next time, do not edit the theme itself. First create a child theme for your changes. Or install a custom CSS plugin.

    Amazing!!
Thanks for the very quick replies.

I followed Esmi advice as it seemed the easiest (I couldn’t access my website’s files).

I will create a child theme or install a custom CSS plugin for sure !!

    Thanks again
