• Hi All

I am not a website designer or developer and have very limited knowledge about codes and website set up etc. Therefore grateful for your advice in plain “English”.

My website developer designed a wordpress site on a genesis framework for me, https://www.conventionhub.co.za. I had a new website guy take over the maintenance of my site and he has installed some security on my backend.

Since the security installation, my initial login details had to change as my initial login details was blocked due to the security plugin picking up that someone else was trying to login. I created a new profile and a few others too but since Friday, I have not been able to access my backend on any of the profiles that I had created.

The https://www.conventionhub.co.za/wp-admin page does not give me any reasons why it is blocking access and unfortunately I’ve tried contacting my website maintenance support guy, but he hasn’t responded after a few emails and telephone messages.

I am desperate to get access to my backend and would be so grateful for some advice around how I can reset my profiles and access the backend.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards,
    Janine

  • It’s difficult to know what to suggest. Do you have ftp access to your site?

What I would do, is disable the security plugin until you can log in, then potentially re-enable it.

To do this, you will need FTP access to rename the folder of the security plugin.

    Do you have FTP access?

    Hi Venutius and Innuvo

I believe I would have FTP access via my hosting company, so perhaps that is a good starting point for me….

I’ll give them a call and see where it leads me. Thank you for the suggestion, I hope it works.
