• Hi,

I need urgent help from anyone on this please.

I cannot upload images anymore to my WordPress site.

The image loads but stops as follows:

    https://snag.gy/EMQLP2.jpg

    POINTS TO NOTE.

    1. This happens on my Chrome browser and Firefox etc.
    2. Other people CAN upload their images to the site with on issues. I am the one having the problem.
    3. Have cleared browser cache, reset Google Chrome settings
    4. Have rebooted PC (Windows 10), reset modem
    4. Permissions of uploads folders and downwards in 775.
    5. Have cleared varnish and any server cache via WP-Rocket plugin used for cache.

This is a very strange problem hence asking to see who else might’ve had a similar problem and a fix please.

    Thanks
    Indy

    Were you upload ever before?

    Is this a new installation?

    Or

What did you do before this issue happened? For example:
    – Did you update WP? Yes? Was it auto update or manual update? Also, updated from what version?
    – Did you install/update plugins?
    – Did you install/update theme?
    – What theme are you using currently? Where did you download it from?
    – Are ALL your plugins and the current theme up to date?
    – Have you moved your site to new server, new domain, or new directory
    – Did your site work without any issue before (No hacking, no error, etc.)?
    – Have you checked your server error logs?

    Hi t-p,

    Thanks for responding.

    Answers to your questions.

Yes, could upload no problems before.
    No, not a new installation.
No not updated to WordPress 4.7 yet.
Yes, I updated the User Editor Role plugin and Social Welfare plugin was updated.
Yes all plugins are now up to date.
    No, not moved.
The site works and it works for everyone else (other editors, admins) but me.
No, not checked my server logs.
Hosting tried it – it works for them ??

I reset Google Chrome’s settings to default, cleared cache.
Tried it on Firefox. It allowed me to add one image and then did same thing.
    Same thing on Windows browser.

This issue is affecting me only – so I need to know what I need to do?

    Please advise.

    Have you tried:
    – deactivating ALL (yes all) plugins temporarily to see if this resolves the problem (plugin functions can interfere). If this works, re-activate them individually (one-by-one) to find the problematic plugin(s).
    – If that does not resolve the issue, try resetting the plugins folder by FTP. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems. Also remember to deactivate any plugins in the mu-plugins folder (if you have created such folder). The easiest way is to rename that folder to mu-plugins-old.
    – If that does not resolve the issue, keep all plugins deactivated and try switching to the unedited default Theme (Twenty Sixteen) for a moment using the WP dashboard to rule out any theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Hi,

Tried all of the above. Nope. The problem still exists.

I even upgraded to WordPress 4.7 to see if that fixed it. But no. Same issue.

It has something to do with drag/dropping my files.

So, I tried using the [Choose File] and [Upload] button. Then it just hanged for many minutes and never loaded the image.

It is a very very strange problem. I have never ever come across before.

    So, any ideas are welcomed.

I would also discuss the issue with my hosting provider

    I have done that.

It works on their side so they say it is my browser.

This is really a strange one, I don`t think this is really a browser problem as you tried with multiple browsers. Did you try with different images in size? if you go into */public_html/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/* is the image there?
