• Hi all,

I’ve been designing my school website for quite some time now and it’s finally ready for release. We have a windows 2003 server with xampp & IIS 6.0. How do I go about hosting the website so it actually goes online?

We currently host one on the server above which will be decommisioned once this one goes live. Is it simply just a case of going into IIS and pointing it to my htdocs file within xampp?

    Cheers

Right I’ve done a little reading and it seem’s I can choose either IIS 6 or Xampp. The current website is using IIS, how would I go about disableing IIS then making xampp my new way of hosting so others e.g. the internet can see my webpage?

I’m not sure how to disable IIS (never mess with it myself), but this guide details setting up XAMPP to run WordPress. Perhaps there’s something useful in it:
