Hey version 4.5.91 of your plugin now all my downloads are blocked with message:

Access denied to this file Go to homepage →

Gonna try rolling back to the previous version, hopefully that helps.

Really disappointed in the constant changes and problems with this plugin.

    Hello,

Could you please go to dashboard > Tools > Site Health > Info > Directories and sizes and tell me if WordPress directory location is similar with Uploads directory location in the sense that Uploads directory location contains WordPress directory location or is WordPress directory location on a different path ?

An update is being prepared in the case that the WordPress directory location is different from the Uploads directory location and will be launched ASAP.

    Warmly,
    Razvan.

@raldea89 Site Health is 100% pass no issues. The media uploads folder is in the default location, inside of the /wp-content/ directory.

    Hey @specialk ,

I was wondering if the whole wp-content folder is residing out of the root directory, not only the uploads. We are currently experiencing a problem where either the whole wp-content directory is moved out of the root or the wp-admin and wp-includes ( wp-config.php and the rest of files also ofc ) are moved outside of the root and the ABSPATH constant has been changed. That was why I was asking about the WordPress directory location and Uploads directory location.

    Razvan

Nope, the site is pretty much standard WordPress install in all respects. So the /wp-content/ directory is in the usual location inside of the WP root folder.

I should add that version 4.5.8 of your plugin is working fine on latest WordPress.

We do have our uploads folder in a different location, /wp/uploads and had the issue. Rolling back to 4.5.8 got the downloads working again, but some of them have disappeared from the Downloads. They still work, but we have no way to update them now.

Hey thanks. Can you update the plugin changelog with current infos:

    https://github.com/WPChill/download-monitor/blob/master/changelog.txt

Same issue here. WordPress vesion 5.9.3. Downloaded your 4.5.92 fix and there are two issues I found.

    1. Still giving the “Access denied to this file Go to homepage →”.
    2. I updated a download and unchecked the “members only” option, then saved. My download URL disappeared. I copied and pasted it back into the system and it still saved as blank.

Your assistance on this is greatly appreciated. Never had a problem until recent update.

    Hey @specialk ,

Sorry about the changelog, in the update hustle I forgot to update the file. Now should be OK mate. Regarding the download bug, are you still experiencing problems?

@tpphost the blank blank path should be solved now, regardless of where the files are.

@mcofficeadmin @tpphost Could you please tell me where the file is situated? Is it in the uploads folder? Outside of the root folder?

    Warmly,
    Razvan

Its not for a download file, but rather points to a hidden page URL within the website. This worked before without an issue using the “add download” then pasting the URL into there. So it may not be a file, but it is still using the local directory, i.e. site.com/magazine/mar-april-2022-issue/

So any download I edit now the URL shows until I update anything, then it wipes it.

Also the bug of “Access denied to this file Go to homepage →” is still present.
