help ads wont show in side bar

my theme is Bouquet, I know to grab a widget text to the sidebar area but when I put the code in for my hobbycraft banner, ( from affiliate window)then save it. It won’t show up? I want to advertise hobbycraft in my side banner. I copy the code, paste it into the text window of the widget but it wont show. Im a newbie to advertising so i need a step by step tutorial does anyone know why it wont work? is it the code? do i need to put a picture of the banner in the widget as well? if so how. Can someone do a youtube video on how to do this, I have followed the ones i see on youtube but my banner adverts wont show.Is there anyone else with affiliate window that can help. I think i maybe copying the wrong code and no one seems to help at affiliate window.
