Help – adding WOO COMMERCE to HTML Site

Have a HTML site that I will be converting to Word Press. However I have shopping cart problems that need to be fixed now. I want to use Woo Commerce instead of programming in HTML.

My host allows sub-sites. I am thinking of adding a sub-site, uploading WP, a Template that is compatible with Woo then activate Woo and set up my shopping cart there.

From the HTML site, I could hot link to the Woo cart in the sub-site. Then I could continue to convert my HTML pages in the sub-site and when I get them all done, make the Word Press site active instead of the HTML.

Sounds too simple ?? but nothing usually is. What am I missing? Any suggestions or problems that I should be aware of?
