help — Add sidebar to the top and bottom of the page

  • Hi everone,

    I am new to worpdress, no previous php experience, but like others i too want to get my blog customized, up and running.

    I am using the parament theme, now i want to add a couple of additional side bars to my page.
    Two at the top of the page and one at the bottom of the page.
    I have gone through a couple of posts here at the support form, and i have alredy busted my functions.php file once. (since i have no php experience)

    Can some one please guide me on how to accomplish this.

    My current webiste looks like this:

  • Hi junaldlive… I actually wrote an article on how to add multiple sidebars to your WordPress blog a while ago. Try it out here and let me know if that helps. If you go through it slowly you shouldn’t have any problems.

    I dont know what i am doing wrong, but i am hitting a roadblock on the first step itself.

    I soon as i update the functions.php file and click on update the page refreshes and goes blank.. ??

    Do you have a sample file that i can directly upload and get this working..

    or if you can edit it on my behalf, let me know i will send you the login details..

    Are you including the <?php and ?> tags in it? They will most likely already be at the top and bottom of that functions.php file so just post the code from the site without those tags.
