• Ok,

    I have decided to rip up my last version of wordpress because it was all over the place and totally confusing. I have decided to start again.

    https://www.nicktoye.co.uk/

    This is obviously the standard version of the index.php, this is the design that I have done that I want to use instead of the standard template.

    Maybe its me, but what the hell do I do?

    Any help would be great.

    Could you be a little more specific?

    Maybe its me, but what the hell do I do?

    I can only speculate without viewable files or more info.

    However, it looks like a CSS issue or maybe a missing /div tag.

    [edit] None of your links work, telling me you have an incorrect URL / missing or changed directory

    Hi,

    I had a go at the template malarkey, correct me if i’m wrong but i’m building my index page from a series of pages that are included as templates.

    It seems you are not using a regular theme ?
    <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" media="screen" href="css/screen.css"/>
    so it’d difficult to know what to say ….

    @keiichi

    You need to create a new thread for this. Your problem has no relevance on this issue at hand.

    Thanks

    That css is my stylesheet, why do I need to use wordpress’s themes?

    You don’t have to use WordPress themes – you can build your own theme, based off a WordPress theme, if that is what you want to do.

    However, you still need to use WordPress generated php code/tags in order to pull the information you want into your pages.

    Using your own stylesheet is appropriate too, only you need template files to go with it.

    yeah thats what i’ve done. Some elements at the moment are being referenced from another styling sheet not mine, its a right ball of elastic bands.

    Getting there.
