• I am creating a wordpress website which was uploaded using an ftp site instead of a Cpannel, I am using studio press genisis with the enterprise child theme. I have recently used the same thems on my own website using the Cpannel to install etc and it has had no issues; but now I am doing it for a client using their ftp host and have had no end of issues.

    1st issue:
I cannot upload any type of media using the dashboard functions, all images currenlty on the site have been uploaded using the ftp.

    2nd issue:
I cannot edit the theme files via the dashboard, again i have to go through the ftp.

    3rd issue:
After trying a number of things suggested on this forum for the first issue I can now only view the first page https://www.copycreative.net when I click for the interal pages i get the 404 error. example

Before this I had the 500 internal server error, again I tried to resolve this using the articles on here, it cleared it but only replaced it with this 404 error.

I have tried reinstalling, adding flash, the .htaccess file and permissions, nothing seems to be working.

Does any one know the answer to this?

  • Try resetting your custom permalinks back to the default setting. If that works, then try reading Using_Permalinks before setting a custom permalink structure back up again.
