Help!

  • Hi guys,

    I put in the username and password into the config file and when I go to /wp-admin/install.php to set everything up I get this message

    Error establishing a database connection

    This either means that the username and password information in your wp-config.php file is incorrect or we can’t contact the database server at localhost. This could mean your host’s database server is down.

    Help!

  • Assuming you have your user anme and password in the wp-config file correctly you may actually need to change the location of the database from localhost to something else.

    Your ISP should be able to help you with this – it may be in you profile information.

    Some Hosts require you to create the database first which is little more than giving a unique name. Contact them for details since this is what happened to me my first shot at installing.
