Hello I am sure you mean to harm but in attempting to test and use your plugin has really screwed things up.I realize this is free to use so please take this as it is offered and see what you can do about it.I recently installed your plugin and it looked and seemed to be what I am looking for. It still may be but I need to be sure how it is going to preform before I use it again.

I assumed that when I deactivate the plug in it would not send emails which turned out to be true that was great. I needed to see how the emails looked in the real world so I just was sending emails to myself and a few others as Administrators. It seemed to work great. I just selected to send on updates only.

Suffice it to say I thought I had it down. So when I selected to send to my 250ish subscribers I had no Idea I would be sending out the same email up to 7 times to everybody who is a subscriber. I had some really angry folks. Not fun to deal with. Why did your plugin repeatedly send the same email?

Maybe you need to add a feature to manually send emails. That way I can control what is going out.

Anyway I have deactivated the plug in. From what I have seen it could help me but for now not so much.

    Hi randy_land,
    Thanks for your message.

A few people have reported problems with this as mentioned in the known issues post with link here. This seems to be mostly related to a hosting set-up and/or social sharing plugins that auto send new posts to social networks though.

I’m confident BNFW should work in most scenarios so if you wouldn’t mind making your way through this help document to troubleshoot the issue, I can look into anything that you might find that might be being caused by the plugin.

Let me know how you get on.

    Thanks,
    Jack

Well I used it again and changed the notification from “notify on update” to “notify on new post published” and it worked. Just one email went out. The reason I wanted to use the update instead of the new post published was to be able to trigger a manual way to send out a notification. I have a few things happen when I publish a post. A list of email only subscribers goes out and facebook gets the post too. I wanted to see the plugins work one at a time. Since I only had one notification configured to notify on “updates” I figured I could do the first couple of jobs separately from the BNFWP. That worked initially. However when I went to send the notification by “updating” my post (there was actually no update I just hit the update button it was already published) It sent out the notification at least 6x. I figure that when I was testing the plugin I had tried this trick at least 5 of 6 times in testing by sending to administrators only. What I envision happened that when I updated the subscribers it saw there were 6 previous updates and sent an email for each one. I figured that it would only send the last update I did not thinkj it would retroactively send the previous updates.

Another problem Formatting my notifications. Why cant i use < b r > in the body of the email? My message with the shortcodes comes out mashed together with the text I am sending.

    Hi @randy_land,
Because of the recent forum upgrade on www.remarpro.com I missed your reply.

Glad it’s now working for you.
With regards to <br> tags, have you tried checking / unchecking the checkbox below the WYSIWYG editor in Text mode?

    Thanks,
    Jack

Thanks again I want to thank you for your help. The check box was the thing. I’ve still things to learn about using wordpress. Like right now I am getting a server error when I add a new post. I know it is because I am using 3 different plugins at the same time. When I add a post, three plugins are triggered yours, one that sends from a different list of subscribers and post to facebook. I am looking at how to trouble shoot this since I need all the emails to go out. Any advice? If I were to pay for help could you help me get this sorted out. I could buy your deluxe version of this plugin but would you help me figure out how to incorporate it with the other ones. First thing I am going to try is to disable one of the three automatic plugins. I can manually trigger one of them however their plugin when manually triggered does not offer the same features as it does when it automatically triggers. I wish there were a way to trigger yours manually the same way that happens when I make a new post and your plug in is set to go. No expectations just inquiring Thanks again. I apologize if my writing is unclear. I am writing and and composing not much editing.
