    Hi there!

I have just adopted the plugin from Francesco and am fully responsible for it now.

I have liked and used this plugin for various purposes, just like you. I see from the support requests that the plugin has a list of issues and hasn’t been maintained for a while (which is where I come in).

It will take me some time to go through them and isolate the problems and also get acquainted with the code.

So, it’d be a while before I can tweak things and make the plugin more stable, secure and uptodate with the latest WordPress techniques.

Please bear with me during this time.

    Best

  • Great news Saurabh! BuddyPress really needs a reliable and solid moderation plugin.

    Great news! Thank you Saurabh.

Hi Saurabh, any progress with the BP Moderation plugin?

    Hi @kobrakai,

Thank’s for checking in. Yes, there’s been some progress.

The plugin is conceptually outdated by about 3 years. I am splitting the plugin into two parts.

    1. A core Engine that can create many kinds of 3 way interactions between content, user and site administrator and 4-way interaction in group contexts (includes group moderators).

    2. A shell that interacts with activities, activity comments, posts, post comments, topics, replies and any other objects including the ones created by other plugins (think rtMedia, etc)

Conceptually, flagging/reporting content is the same as liking, sharing or favoriting or voting for content, in that the user ‘interacts’ with the content.

Most such interactions are either states (yes/no)(I can only like an activity or favorite it once) or counts (I can share an activity as many times as I like).

Then it is just a question of counting the number of interactions and creating thresholds that trigger WordPress actions. For eg, if an activity is reported by 10 users, do this. If an activity reaches 100 likes, do that.

While I code this I’ll obviously make it compatible with the current versions of WordPress, bbPress and BuddyPress.

However, it’d be at least a month before I release a beta version and another by the time I can release a stable version. I’ll keep you updated here.

Hi Saurabh, thanks a lot for the update and explaining it all. Look forward to the beta!

    Hello,
Great plugin, I also need an option to view the messages that are marked as inappropriate. Can you help regarding that.
I am using word press v-4.1.1

    Thanks.

Please keep us up to date on the latest build. Is this current plugin from the repository still safe to use security wise?

Will it break the latest wordpress 4.2.2 and buddypress 2.3.2?

I have notify by email set so please comment and let us know! The only other tool out there is WangGuard and it isn’t really what I was looking for when wanting to simply add a flag / spam link to buddypress activity feed.

    Thanks!

    Hi Saurabh

    Any progress with the plugin?

wondering the same thing here … any progress??

    Hiya any updates?
