HEEEEEEEEEELP!!!

  • I’ve uploaded a new theme but it seems to be missing some plugins, but because it already exist wordpress won’t allow me to upload another one of the same kind before deleting the existing one. If I delete the current one and upload the new one, will I have to redo all the changes all over again or will it plug right in with no problem?

  • You will have to redo any settings youve changed since install, your best bet in this case is to upload the files manually, just copy the files over right from the zip itself rather then use the wordpress installation… I had an issue installing my theme as well and once I did it manually everything seemed to work just fine

    When you say plugins are these built into the existing theme?

    Just rename the folder of the existing theme, or add the new files via ftp to a new folder.

    If you are uploading via the Admin area, rename the zip or the folder inside the zip, for the new theme.

    Backup your old theme first, and checkout using a child theme going forward!
