    Hi Friends,

I had a blog in wp 1.5 that contained a mix of hebrew and english. It worked well. I recently decided to upgrade to the latest version (2.0.2) from 1.5 and suddenly most of the hebrew isn’t showing up properly. (see https://siddur.arielbenjamin.com/) For example the title of the blog appears correctly—both english and hebrew—but then the very same text does not appear correctly in the body of posts or in the links or in the pages list. Further, when I now attempt to compose the hebrew is replaced with dots. Strangly there are some pages where the text appers properly when formatted in bold for example but is replaced with dots when left plain. (see https://siddur.arielbenjamin.com/?page_id=2) What am I doing wrong? Please help! Thanks!

  • Your Hebrew shows up fine when I view it! (At least I assume it does, I don’t read Hebrew. None of the letters become dots, at least.)

What browser are you using, and what operating system?

Looks fine to me too, although I don’t speak the language myself I was able to view your blog in both Internet Explorer 7 Beta and Firefox perfectly.

Hmmm… so… that’s really weird. It appears that the unicode font set as default in internet explorer 6 on my system is currently pointing to a font that doesn’t have the extended characters. When I switch to Firefox it works fine. Anyone have any idea where that setting is, how I can change it, and what I should change it to? Thanks for the dx help so far and for and help you can offer with this.

More info on the problem… I just checked and the font in IE6 is the same font as in FF1.5.0.1. Both are set to Times New Roman. Anyone have any idea why ie6 would desplay the extended charachters as dots and FF1.5.0.1 would display them properly when they are both set to the same font? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
