• Hi,

I have a club that would like to install a hebrew version. I know there is lots of info out there but I can’t translate, and the club can’t seem to understand it either, so I could really use help understanding forign language installs.

If I understand this, I have to download and install the hebrew version at
https://wph.co.il/blog/316/wordpres-he-2-6-1/ then get the .mo file and install that. Do I have to set up the database in any particular way or make any other changes?

I tried this once but it didn’t quite work. Some text was still in English and the text didn’t move right to left correctly.

Anyway, and thoughts would be great.

  • That package is called “he” for a reason: it is already translated which means it contains the .mo file!

Try it again… and keep in mind: themes need their own translation so check with the default theme included in the package, which also has already the language (.mo) file. Other theme, if not translated, will display their text in English.

    Hi,

Thanks for that. Yeah I got the install right. The hebrew version install had the mo in the /includes and not in the /wp-content/ Once I copied it over that fixed most of the issues. I’ve also installed a HE theme and it’s starting to look like it’s supposed to now.

    Thanks!
