• Is gutenberg perfect right now? No, but it’s in a much better spot than it was when it was first announced. As a developer who relies on WordPress and finally started some testing within the code it’s going to be one of the things WordPress has been so desperately being needed/wanted which is a good user experience for the editor. Even with limited documentation it was easy to understand and to get a gutenberg block working from a dev perspective. The old editor was cumbersome for devs to make changes to and to add new features. The trade off is it does change the user experience for the short term to learn, and devs will need to learn React/Javascript but the trade off will be massive. Expect great plugins to come out with for gutenberg (which some do already exist). I think a year or two from now people will really start to appreciate this move and see the power in where WordPress is going with this.

By which time hundreds of thousands of frustrated users will have departed.
