Note: I’m just going to immediately mark this as resolved because there’s nothing inherently wrong with the plugin!

I just wanted to give you a heads up that using the Picturefill method (often) breaks Pinterest image sharing using: Browser Extensions (extension button and hover buttons), Embedded Sharing Scripts and Third Party Sharing Scripts (e.g. AddThis).

In my testing, it was inconsistent whether or not Pinterest picked up on the images on the page. I’m not sure how it could find some of the images and not others when I’m 100% sure all of them were being displayed via Picturefill, but who knows sometimes? Some browsers did better than others.

This is obviously because of Picturefill using JS to display the images.

It will continue to be an issue until SRCSET is supported by browsers and in turn Pinterest sharing browser extensions and embedded scripts support it.

In the meantime, you may want to give people a heads up in the description for selecting Picturefill as a method that it does break

I’ve had to fall back on another method (still deciding between IMG Rewrite
and Retina-Images) for one blog in the meantime because I foresee Pinterest sharing as being important.

    As I said, just a heads up…

    Cheers,
    Andrew
