Heading background color

    Super plugin – thank you.

    I’d like to be able to set the background color of headings.
    I can set the foreground color, but not the background.

    I tested this with the default twenty nineteen theme to ensure its not a clash with my theme.

  • Hey @ian72 ,

    Background and text colors on headings is a Gutenberg thing, and is achievable by wrapping the heading block with a Group block in the editor.

    Hi @ian72,

    Can you please check, if it works in the frontend? If it is only not showing the correct color in the editor, it is a known bug which will be adressed in the next major release.

    The text-colour is just fine, it plays happily with my custom palette too.
    I cannot set a background colour on Headings, it does not show up in the options when selected.
    Paragraphs allow you to set text colour and background colour

    @ian72, like @sj_o said, it is a Gutenbereg limitation that you are not (until now) able to set the background color of headings.
