Headers Not Showing

  • Hello:

    I just upgraded to 2.3 and have also re-installed my theme (created by WP Theme Generator). And now for some reason the Title of my blog and the Sub-title of my blog are not showing. I had a similar issue in the earlier version of WP and someone on this forum provided me with the code to fix it, but that code no longer seems to fix the problem with the newer version of WP. When I try it, I get an error message. Can someone help me with this?

    I tried using your code above (of course filling in the font-size, font, color, etc.) and not only did it not work, but I seem to have deleted my sidebar in the process.

    When this happened, I quickly uninstalled the WP Theme Generator theme I had been modifying and then re-installed it, but I still can’t seem to get the sidebar to come up! I have applied for membership on the WP Theme Generator Help Forum, but they still haven’t responded to my application and so I can’t get any help from them.

    My next course of action is to try to contact the Theme’s creator directly. It’s getting really tempting to just switch to another theme, but you know what they say about a devil you know….

    Any suggestions? Anyone?

    Did you edit the file with the online Theme Editor?
    (rant: nobody should ever use it…)

    Errmm, yes, I did use the online Theme Editor. Not a good idea, eh?

    Is that why you were using the pastebin.ca site?

    No, I don’t use it because it does NOT have an “undo” button ??

    I always edit the files in a plain text editor on my computer and upload them via ftp.
    I hope you have a backup copy of your template files/theme files – so just upload the ones you messed up and you should be fine,.

    Hi Moshu:

    Sorry not to respond sooner. Busy day today. Well whatever was wrong with my site seems to have righted itself. After uninstalling and reinstalling the Theme, my sidebar came back, so that’s one problem solved.

    I also found some old emails from Theme Generator’s creator and I may just try to reach her about the font problem. She helped me with it before and although her original fix doesn’t seem to be working with the new WP version, perhaps she can help me again. We’ll see.
