P.S Just wondering of this has something to do with the roles on the site. The theme and site doesn’t use the standard WordPress roles.

I’ve also just noticed that on trying to submit a ticket it shows an error of:

You do not have the capacity to open a new ticket.

Again, I guess linked to the roles. How can this be corrected?

I see where this is coming from but it doesn’t seem normal. Another plugin must be outputting data on the init hook.

Sorry for asking, but could you possibly deactivate your other plugin and see if it fixes the problem. If it does, let’s try to identify which plugin is faulty and if it can be fixed. Otherwise I’ll see if we can change something in Awesome Support to redirect earlier.

    Hello Julian

    Thanks for the fast reply.

This would dive been my normal course of action but awesome support is the only plugin active. The theme is is very specific in what it does. There may be other plugins used but if they are they will be coded into the theme files.

There is also the issue of not being able to submit a ticket because of the roles. If you could let me know if there is anything else I can try – if not I will ask the theme developer.

    Thanks again

Hey there, i have the same problem since i downloaded the new aswesome support. Im using a woocommerce based shop. when a new user registrating on the shop the role is “customer”, the awesome support role is “support-user”. however only “support-user” roles can open a ticket, otherwise they get the error message “You do not have the capacity to open a new ticket”. It would be great if my customers dont have to create a new account to use the support. in the old plugin version it was no problem.

Sure I’m sorry I forgot to answer about that part. No need to create a new account! I think this part could use a little improvement but for now, what you have to do it to give your subscribers a new capabilities.

I suggest you use a plugin like User Role Manager and give the subscriber role the following capabilities:

    • view_ticket
    • create_ticket
    • close_ticket
    • reply_ticket
    • attach_files

Regarding the other problem, could you possibly switch to a default theme (Twenty Fourteen, Twenty Fefteen) and see if the problem still occurs.

    Hello Julian,

Thanks – the plugin you suggested fixes the issue of not being able to submit a ticket.

The headers already sent issue also occurs with the twenty fifteen and twenty fourteen theme, not just with the one I’m using.

There are no other plugins enabled other than user role manager and awesome support.

One last question – is there a way to change the title ‘product’ to ‘category’? I notice that you can’t set up departments so was wondering if ticket category could be used instead?

There is no easy way to change product into category and it’s for a reason: this taxonomy is used in many places and add-ons. Without it things would break. I suggest you add a new taxonomy if needed.

After 2 weeks without answer I’ll consider this as resolved.
