Header.php file not getting updated with changes to image header

  • I am updating the header of my site with an animated gif file using the add image header option from the dashboard. This is not getting updated in the header.php file.

    I had used this before and any image updated through this option would be updated in the php file.

    I am using 2016 child theme and the image has the recommended header size.
    Not sure what I am missing in this. Looking for any suggestions to resolve ths issue.

  • have you tried uploading a different image type. As the gif file might contain errors which the uploader is ignoring.

    yes.. i tried uploading png files which was used before this and had worked fine. The header php file is not updated with the png files also.
