Header widget top aligned as custom logo

Hello. I′m having trouble with the alignment of header widgets. They appear to the right as they should, but they are aligned with the lower edge of the custom logo graphics. This causes a blank area to the right of the logo. I want the header widget to align to the right, but also top alignment in line with the top edge of custom logo.
Theme version 3.1.6 – wp 4.6

I′ve just added a standard textwidget with some words to show the issue.
I do not have this problem on other sites still running theme version 3.1.3
Please help, anyone?
