• Really love the Colinear theme but wish there were more options and less CSS required.

Problem 1: I’ve manipulated CSS to get my page mostly where I want it but can’t figure out to get rid of the white margin above and to the sides of my header image.

If I change the background color via CSS, it makes the entire strip on the left and right dark.. I just want it dark on the sides/top of my header.

Problem 2: When I look at the page on a mobile device the header area looks really funky. Maybe when I fix the white margins on desktop it will look better.

Problem 3: Link color and quote blocks have been customized via CSS and shows up properly (teal) on desktop but on mobile it shows up as the default blue.

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hi @armueller2001,

The challenge that you’ll find is that the page, including the header, has spacing (margins/padding) to accommodate your site branding and content. While you can remove this spacing to achieve what you want in the header, this means that you’ll have to add additional CSS to your content body.

As for some of the funky issues you’re having on mobile, it’s likely due to the lack of specificity in your CSS.

My best recommendation here is to choose a theme that support full site editing, like Twenty Twenty Two, to achieve your desired layout without having to find CSS workarounds.

Thanks for the input. I loaded twenty twenty two and am building it out.

Is there not an option for a right sidebar with this theme?

    Hi there,

Is there not an option for a right sidebar with this theme?

Do you mean Twenty Twenty-Two? That theme was created for the new Site Editor released in WordPress 5.9, so if you want a sidebar, you can use the Site Editor to create your own. All aspects of that theme is created from within the Site Editor, so you won’t find any of the regular theme options and settings you would have gotten used to in WordPress themes to date.

You can find a tutorial on how to create a sidebar in the Site Editor here:

    https://wordpress.com/support/add-a-sidebar/

Twenty Twenty-Two is a default theme made by the core WordPress team, not by us, so if you need more help with that theme, please post in its support forum directly:
