Header Menu Posts Not Linking Correctly

Apologies in advance, I’m very new and not very technical. I searched for help on this topic but didn’t find an exact match. I’m using “Match” theme.
My header menu categories (horizontal) are not linking to my respective posts. For example, a menu category is “Celebrations”. I have 17 posts related to this category. When I click on “Celebrations” it pulls up one “Celebration” post, not the most recent and the links to previous and next posts are not “Celebration” posts but posts that came chronologically before and after.
My drop down “categories” that are on the vertical side of my site work fine, as do my search bars.
Help is greatly appreciated!!!
