Hello. When I updated my header image (2000×500) to my wordpress site, the header image got zoomed quite a bit. I don’t know why it’s doing this. I can only see part of the image that I uploaded, and I put in the recommended size, too. Is there any way to fix this? I do not have the premium version of wordpress, if you have to know.

It is expected behavior for the image to be cropped and adjusted to fit the entire space of the header. The image will also adjust depending on the screen size you’re displaying it in (desktop, mobile, etc).

If you are referring to the home page background image, then making the height larger than 500px is recommended.

I am referring to the header image right now. The problem I am having now is the fact that the image matched the recommended size for the wordpress site perfectly, but the image still got zoomed in 2-3 times. I am looking at this from the desktop, currently.

I have the same issue. When I upload a header photo 2000×500 it zooms into the top left corner of the photo. I tried to switch it from Fixed to Scroll but after I save as Scroll, when I view site it returns to the zoomed in photo. And then when I return to the Customizer the setting is back on Fixed again. No matter how many times I try to set it on Scroll it always returns to Fixed.

I’m having the same issue as well.

    Hi guys,

I see what you mean about the header dimensions. Honestly, I had developed it to display an image “abstractly”. Meaning, it would give a sort of boku / blurry display of the image’s colors.

But I can certainly see how having the image display as-is without any zooming is probably ideal for a larger group of users. With that being said, I’ll be happy change this in the next theme update.

Awesome! That would be great. Any idea when you’re next update will be coming out?

Not a problem. I love the feedback. ??

I’ll try to get it submitted today but it sometimes takes a few days for the theme review team to push it live. You’ll see a notice in your WordPress dashboard when it’s available.

    Thanks. That’s great.

I don’t think I received a notice about installing an update on the theme. Is it possible it got pushed to my site? I’m noticing what ensj said “There’s a big, empty space at the bottom of the header image.” Also, there is empty space on both sides of the Featured Image for the Homepage now as well.

The update is in queue waiting for approval from the theme review team still. I’m not sure I know what you mean about a big empty space. Can you share a screenshot? https://tinygrab.com/

Uh no. Tinygrab has unknown publisher and other issues for me to feel comfortable continuing with its install, and I’m on a windows pc ;-). You should be able to see it here: https://insightinntest.wordpress.com/
You will see a blue/green on either side of the Featured image on the homepage. Both FireFox and Chrome show this. In Chrome, I also see green under the featured image and above the menu on other pages. But not in FireFox.

I’d be happy to email you screenshots if you aren’t seeing it still.
