    hello.

    https://www.vinovwines.com

I am still having some problems with the header on my site. I have a light blue rectangle under my image that is wider.

I am not sure why this is happening…any ideas?

Is there a way to bring back the rounded corners (or remove the rounded corners from the bottom of the page)?

Also… I would like to change the color of my links from light blue to purple. How do I do that?

    Thank you all,

    Anita

Yup, you made your header image too narrow and the background color of your image is leaking through. ??

Best bet would be to make your header image that much wider and color the extra bit the same color as the background of your page.

You’ll note that the background image of where your posts go is wider than just that white space.

    Thanks Mike!

when you say “that much wider” and color the “extra bit the same color” could you give me some pointers or point to some pointers?

Also, could you explain the last sentence?

    Thanks!

Check your stylesheet for #headerimg, and change the background color to match the background of the body of your site. ??

    Hello again,

I played around a little bit, I was able to change the background color, but it is a little off.

According to my color picker, your header’s background color is D5D6D7. But your body’s background color is E7E7E7 (which is actually in kubrickbgcolor.jpg, I know), so you might want to try that to match them up. ??

    THANKS Nitallica!

I have a hard time finding out what number equates to what color. Is there a site that I can type in a # and it gives me the color?

Also, I noticed now that the banner is a little smaller than the borders of the post. Can I widen the borders just a little?

And another…how does the “home page” plugin work. I would like to use it.

    re: colors

I don’t know of any apps offhand that do that, but there are a TON of color chart webpages out there that do (Google). There used to be an extension for Firefox that would give you the number and name of the color, but unfortunately it seems to have been abandoned. ??

    re: banner/borders

That, actually, is your background image (kubrickbg.jpg). IMO the easiest thing to do would be to adjust the size of your header image just a little bit to match. ??

    re: home page

You can pick any existing page as your “home” page. For instance, if you decided that the first thing you wanted your visitors to see when they visit https://www.vinov.com is your “About us” page, you’d simply go to Options, then Reading in your Admin panel. Under “Front page displays:” choose “A static page (select below)” and from there choose “About Us” from the drop down list.

    re: colors and FF extensions

    I use ColorZilla.

ColorZilla is nice as a colorpicker app/ext, but unfortunately it doesn’t give you a color chart to choose from like Web Color Names did. ??

As far as color pickers go, my fav is a stand-alone app called ColorMaster. It has a very nice magnifying function and a built-in screen shot maker.

    Thanks everyone.

Would you mind giving it a look over and tell me if anything is out of wack? I still seem to have the label image on top a little smaller than the body – or is it just missing a border?

Also, the image on top seems to load slower than it used to.
