• I’ve seen a couple of older threads about header images not filling in the header space, but I have the opposite problem – the image is overexpanded, so that it can’t be completely seen in any dimension. My site is here; I’ve tried images that are larger, smaller, and exactly 1600x400px, and the effect is the same no matter what (the one up right now is smaller). The same image is posted below on the home page so you can see what it should look like.

Ideally, I’d like the header image to fit fully across the frame, and scale with the window down to the minimum height of the header text. Is there a way to do this in the css or php files? The image in the page body does, so it seems like the header should be able to as well, but I can’t figure it out. I’m already using a child theme so I’m not worried about making changes.

To clarify: I’d like it to handle the header image like the Twenty-Sixteen theme does. I have other problems with that one (namely the menu design and placement), but if there’s a way to bring the header image code from that into this one it would be great.
