First off, thanks for this awesome plugin. My clients really can’t do without it!

That said, yesterday a client of mine made a newsletter, tested it and after approving it also sent it. Problem is that although the testversion was fine, the sent version had the header image missing (alt text was shown instead).

I checked the newsletter out (I always make sure to be on my clients lists so I can monitor these kinds of issues) and instead of the normal image link I expected it to have, it had a completely different link.
Ik expected it to link to the plugin > template > images folder but it instead linked to a random generated image:
    https://www.the-url.nl/wp-content/uploads/knewsimages/935d18f1_740b10b3cc2f930d.jpg

This told me that this possibly could be ‘just’ a read/write issue so I checked the permissions on these folders, but both wp-content & uploads have their permissions set on 755, which should be fine.

So now I’m kinda lost at how to fix this. I wonder (and hope) if you have any idea’s how I can resolve this issue before my client needs to send out his next newsletter?

A lot of thanks in advance!

    Thanks for your words.
Knews includes a pixel tracking feature, this give you accurate stats. This feature comes deactivated by default.

Please, go to Knews>Config>Advanced>Pixel tracker and check if you can see the cat. If you can’t, please, configure the htaccess (take a look to the suggested code in the same page) or deactivate this feature…

    Kind regards,
    Carles.

Thanks so much! That must be it. I never would of thought of checking the settings seeing it worked just fine before. Something must have changed with all the updates flying around.

I’m sad to say that despite me changing the htaccess I didn’t get to see the cat this time (I have in the past) so I’m disabling the function.

Thanks again for the help. Wouldn’t have found it without you!

Thanks, Pixelein. Tracking pixel comes deactivated by default.

Please, update Knews and check again: an issue in Knews 1.5.4 gives a bad htaccess config, try the new suggestion, should work.

Tracking pixel gives you better open rate stats, because use the IMG requests, not only the newsletter link clicks.

    Regards,
    Carles.

    Cheers Creverter! You fixed it!
I can see the cat and the tracking is activated again.

    I owe you one! Thx!
