Header Image appears in sidebar

    Just changed theme from 2014 to WP 2015. I’ve used many themes over the years on the same blog– thesis, elegant grunge, and others.

    When I use the standard function to set a header image, the image appears as a transparent image in the left sidebar, with nothing appearing above the text of the first post in the body. The background image function works fine.
    Any ideas for what might be going wrong? thanks!
