Header Height Question

    Hi, Circumference Lite is a great theme. It’s working well so far, with a lot of customizable features. I intend to have my client purchase it if she approves the rough.

    I’ve spent a few hours trying to figure out how to get the header to be the height it should be (500 px). The instructions say to make the header image 2550 pixels by 500 pixels. I did that and clicked “post without cropping”. But all I’m getting is a narrow band, a portion of the header, unless I add a widget to the “wide banner.” That dynamically expands the header, but still doesn’t allow it to be the correct / full size.

  • Hi Elizabeth…thanks for the great comment about my theme. I just took a look at the site and it looks great too.

    I’m guessing you used the WP Header to put an image in? If so, I used the WP Header feature as the background image of the banner area only. So for any static image or slider, you would use a widget for that position which will give you the height.

    2560px in width is suggested, but you do not have to use that size if you need the image to be smaller. Also, any image you put in (or slider) will be responsive which means it will adjust in size based on the viewing screen size (monitor or browser window) and the height will be relative to the width.

    Hi Elizabeth…I just wanted to follow up with you to find out how things are going with your header height question? I looked at your site and it looks like things are OK? Unless you have more questions relating to this topic, is it safe to say this topic can be set to “resolved”?

    Hi — Thanks for your response. You helped clarify a couple of questions I had about the header.

    I was able to resolve the problem by creating a transparent PNG file of 1 pixel by 300 pixels and adding that to an image widget on the header. Probably a clunky work-around, but it worked.

    What counts is what works for the individual. I have to say though it’s a great looking site with the use of your colours and the logo seems to suit the theme very well. Good Job! Although users can give star ratings here, I cannot, but I would give you a 5 star one ??

    Hey!

    I am having the same difficulty as Elizabeth but am probably newer to wordpress. What widget do I drag over to the Banner Wide area to upload an image that will show at the correct width?
