I have a wide table to display but when I try to fix the header row, as soon as I scroll down, the header jumps to full width and doesn’t line up with the columns. Don’t know what I am doing wrong – the shortcode in use is [table id=3 datatables_fixedheader=top datatables_fixedcolumns_left_columns=2 responsive=”scroll” /]

In addition the table won’t display in full on mobile devices – as soon as I try to scroll down, the view jumps back to top of page.

Is there something I’m doing wrong, or some CSS I can apply?

    Thanks

    Hi,

thanks for your question, and sorry for the trouble.

The problem here is that your table is too wide for the screen. The external FixedHeader JavaScript code that is used here is not compatible with such tables at this time, from everything I know.

As for that jumping: I’m not sure what’s causing that, and I haven’t seen something like that before… Does this also happen when you remove the FixedHeader feature from this table?

    Regards,
    Tobias

Thanks Tobias, it behaves properly with the FixedHeader removed. I can use it ok like that with pagination in place.

    Hi,

thanks for the confirmation! This will have to be the way to go for your table then.
Sorry for not having a better solution here.

    Best wishes,
    Tobias
