The header image does not resize on a mobile device. At all.

    Is this expected behavior?

For example, on my site, I have a large image of a boy at a table.

But on my phone, all I see is black (just one small portion of the image).

  • Hello. I am using Gateway for a restaurant website and it’s been great overall. Appreciate all your work, Rescue Themes.

I am, however, very concerned about the same issue mentioned in this thread. I’ve tested on iPhones running Chrome and Safari. The home header image shows up for a brief bit and then disappears in Chrome. In Safari, there is no scaling/resizing such that I just see a small portion of the image. On Windows Mobile, the image resizes and scales nicely, but the scroll is /very/ choppy.

Has the update been released? If not, can I also get the updated code to fix this issue before it’s officially released?

I’m also curious if there’s a way to set the header image for non-home pages individually. For example, Page 1 has a certain header image; Page 2 has a different header image.

I’m running gateway.1.2.2. Will the newest update address these specific issues?

The latest version is 1.2.31 which should address the issues mentioned in this thread. You should have an update notice in your WP Dashboard.

@gbhatnag Please update your theme. I’m going to mark this thread as resolved because it’s addressed the issues mentioned but if you have any other questions, please feel free to open up a new thread specific to your issue. ??

    Kind Regards

Thanks, I’ll update my theme and let you know if I encounter any issues.

I just downloaded Gateway free theme for the first time yesterday. I would assume that means I received the updated version with the mobile header correction. When I look at my website on my iPhone, the header is only partly visible. Please advice.

If the answer is to update my theme, please tell me how to do that. I have no idea!

If the answer is to enter the CSS code, please tell me how to do that. I have no idea about that either.

This is working better now with the new update, thanks.

thiswingedheart, I think you have the most recent version. It is still problematic on iPhone and iPad devices. I know the developer is working on the issue. It is definitely better with the update, but still appearing incorrectly on i-devices. Sometimes it looks good in one mode (e.g., portrait), but when you turn your device (landscape) the problems reappear. Plus it does not look consistent across i-devices. It looks different on the iPhone 6 Plus than it does on the 5s than it does on the iPad.

But with the update the problems are fewer.

@thiswingedheart I suspect you might not be viewing the home page template. The header on the inner pages is a quarter of the size of the home page top image (also called the hero section). Have you assigned your home page template as explained in the instructions?

@dannydanny Let’s keep working directly with the problems you’re having. Think @thiswingedheart’s is different and it’ll only confuse the matter.

Hi friends! I don’t know if I’m in the right place. I am helping a friend with a website and we went through wordpress.COM and not www.remarpro.com. I’m using the Gateway theme, but having the same banner issue on mobile and tablet views. I know there was an update to the theme for the .ORG version, but is there anything I can do for the .COM version?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!! I’m at a total loss!!

    It’s at capribeenetranslations.wordpress.com

The .com version was not created or maintained by me. If you need support for that version of the theme, you’ll need to contact .com support:

I’ve tried adding the css to make my header image resize for mobile phone, but it isn’t working. I placed the code in the CSS under main element and slide image because I’m not sure where I’m supposed to place it, but neither of those worked.

I’m also having a problem with the menu on mobile. I have the three lines (hamburger?) menu in the upper right corner. They show in mobile, but nothing happens when you click it.

Can you give me any help with this?

    Thank you very much.

    hi,

i’m having a similar issue. All of my submenu items are really wide and go off the page when I view my site from my desktop. And when I view them on my mobile browser, the background scrolls instead of the menu. Can you help?

    Thanks,
    Colby
