Header display issues & child theme not working eitheir

Hi there

I’ve dowloaded both version of Hemingway, one from the dev site in version 1.44 and the other on wordpress.com the “hemingway rewritten”

First of all my goal is to be able to display only the header image with no logo and select background text color.

That said now my issue is that
– in the rewritten version there is no option to select background color but it’s easy to disable slogan display.

In the dev site version I can select the color but I can’t disable slogan display, and if I choose an empty logo to disable the slogan the header is reduce by half in hight…
And also the search button is not long enough for the french translation (no issue with rewritten for that)

Will there be a futur release that include all features form both version ?

I would like to use this great theme but I can’t make any code modification myself for futur maintenance reason.

I also tried to create a child theme but it doesn’t display any thing good at all, the whole design is broken with both version.
I used child theme with other template and never had that bad display behaviour before with just the screenshot and style.css file.

Hope someone can help.
