Header and screen resolutions

  • I’m working with the Tiga theme, and while everything else has come together pretty well, the header is giving me headaches. I want to put a full-size image in the white space where the header is located, or maybe even Google Ads, but it gets all weird in different resolutions. To use up much of the space at 1160×842 (or slightly smaller), the image/ad has to be about 750px wide.

    Obviously, this causes problems at 800×600, which is obviously still widely used, including by my client. If there are any tricks to fixing that, or getting the page to read what resolution is being used (use Ad “A” at this resolution, use Ad “B” at the smaller), I’d love to know.

    If it’s an image you’re looking to change, the easiest way is to make sure your new header image is the same size as the one it’s replacing, then save it in the “images” folder of your theme with the same filename as the one you want to get rid of.

    If you’re more familiar with CSS, you can save it with it’s own identifiable name, then find the name in the style.css file and change it there, and if you’re REALLY familiar with CSS, you can put any size image in there, and then change the CSS around it to make it fit.

    I’m using LetoPrime theme. the current header is cactus, now i want to change to vla. I don’t know how to do.

    It’s a full image, set as a background.

    To make it work, you need to design a header with the same dimensions as that one, then replace it in the template. Since it’s a background, I’m guessing you’ll find that in the style.css file, probably in the #header section.

    Create your header, upload it to the themes/letoprime/images directory (or however the path works with that theme, I haven’t really checked it out), then change it appropriately in the CSS.
