    Can anyone tell me in simple English why I can’t change the size of my header jpeg photo?
    No matter what pixel dimension I choose, the photo on my site is gigantic.
    I’ve erased all previous attempts and tried to start over again but the results never change.
    Please point me to wherever I need to go to make this work.
    Keep it simple because I no nothing about these complicated codes.

    It looks like its adding the image as a banner, but stretching it to full width, however keeping proportions. This is a good thing, but not with the height/shape of the image you have!

    Are you hoping it crops and only shows part of the image? eg:

    The theme you are using wants to use your image as a banner, so will always stretch it.
    Ideally, you need to upload an image that is a letterbox shape…
