• I am a novice. I want to have a solid color header background and then imbed/insert an image of an animal say on the far right end – in the header.
Can someone give me some guidance on how to do this? I have paint.net and Gimp as well as Paint Shop Pro X2 I want to add text to the header to the left of the image but I am comfortable with how to do that.

The finished product would be saved as a .png?

  • You could save it as any image type and just insert the picture in the header. I had similar issue that had been answered by alchymyth for doing just that.

Actually Ive read the thread and I’m too thick to even understand that:)
Cant I create the header in one of the graphics packages, put the image where I want it in the header and then FTP it to my site?

You certainly can, but you’ll need to edit the header.php file to insert the image. You should check the size of the image prior to creating it, or just modify the style.css for custom size image.

If you use the Twenty Eleven theme, you can also add your image through the admin panel by browsing to your image on your computer to upload.
