Header & Footer problem!

Header –

I just got a new one designed and edited the header dimensions in header.php accordingly, and also in the css where it says:

#header {
padding: 0;
margin: 0 auto;
height: 160px;
width: 100%;
background-color: #73a0c5;
}

#headerimg {
margin: 0;
height: 160px;
width: 100%;
}

Still, both in IE and FF…the header seems to blend not very well with the kubrick_bg.jpg…i’ve tried searching around and already wrecked my CSS file once, lucky i’ve got a back up…i don’t want to risk it anymore though…please help m find the problem (the files are indentical in Photoshop when put one under the other, so it’s a coding problem for sure)

Footer:

In FF it’s all fine, in IE you can see it’s just a bit off the alignment, what causes the diffrence and how can it be changed?
