• I just switched to Word Press and downloaded a theme to my computer. It gave me no option other than to put it on my desktop, but I am having a difficult time uploading it. I am new at all this and when I go to Filezilla I can’t seem to find the theme (clean-bluehaze-06) anywhere, yet it is still on my desktop. Am I doing something stupid or is this a real problem? I am on a Mac and using Firefox if that makes a difference

  • You download a theme to your computer (I would have preferred the option “save” and then selected a folder) and you upload the theme using FTP in the themes folder (in /wp-includes I believe). THEN you go to your WP admin-panel and select the theme.

I tried saving it but it gave me no option of where to save it—it just saved to my desktop.

When you download something, you use the right mousebutton and click on “save as”, right? This allows you to choose both the name AND the location where to store the file, the same as with any download.
I cannot try right now if you can now click right on the icon on your dashboard and say “extract to” or something, but you may want to give that a go now you have got the file on your desktop anyway.
