    Hi! I am having trouble adding checkboxes to a field. I already have several, and now I would like to add several more. When I go to the form builder and click on my checkbox field, I am guessing that I go to “additional classes.” I type something into that and click “update form,” but nothing seems to happen. I have tried clearing the cache in Settings, but still nothing new shows up.

    Fields are actually modified in your MailChimp account.

    Thank you, Tracy. I went back to MailChimp and was able to add more fields to the form there, but I still am not seeing the changed form on the web site, though I have emptied the API cache. Do I just need to wait or is there another problem I need to fix, do you think?

    Hi Jenny,

    Please try removing that field from your form in the form builder and then re-adding it. Sometimes when you make changes to a field you need to do that extra step in addition to clearing your API cache.

    I am nervous about removing the field for the checkboxes (I’ve partially done that, but haven’t clicked “Update”) because there doesn’t appear to be a checkbox option. I can’t make any part of the form builder draggable. Would I remake it in the form or would that just automatically happen as part of the MailChimp communication with the site?

    Hello.

    If you click on a field in the Form Builder and expand it, you’ll find a “Remove Field” link at the bottom of the field’s options. After you do that, it’ll disappear from the Form Builder, but will be on the Form Fields list to the right of it. From there you can click on that same field under Form Fields and re-add it to the Form builder.

    That should re-add it with all of the new options you created in MailChimp.

    It’s not currently on the list of form fields…it’s a customized field. I don’t know why it doesn’t appear there now. Will it appear there after I remove it from the form builder?

    I tried removing it, did press update, and the checkbox field has disappeared entirely. It also does not appear in the list of form fields. I have saved a copy, so I can go back to it as it was, but I really want more checkboxes!

    How can I get checkboxes to appear in the list of form fields? The updated checkboxes appear to be in my MailChimp form, but don’t seem to be making it into the web site.

    Hi Jenny.

    I do not know why the field would disappear entirely from the form builder and field list.

    How many checkboxes do you have on the form?

    If you start a brand now form is the checkbox field there with all of the checkboxes? If you could test that for me that would be great.

    Hi, Tracy! I was able to fix it. After following your other instructions, all I had to do was to click on “Interest Group.” I hadn’t realized that I needed to do that to access the checkbox field.

    Ah! I didn’t realize your field was an interest group and not a regular checkbox field.

    Yes, I didn’t know it was an interest group either. I didn’t deliberately set it up that way. Are some MailChimp checkboxes not interest groups? I have a lot to learn!
